The Local Organising Committee has developed an exciting social program to complement the Conference day sessions. Delegates are encouraged to participate in the social aspects of the Conference.

Welcome Drinks

Date: Tuesday 7 February 2023
Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Venue: Conference Venue, University of Canterbury

The Welcome Reception is a great opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues and meet new like-minded researchers. This social evening includes drinks and nibbles. A complimentary ticket is included in the cost of full registration. Other delegates and guests can attend at a cost of AU$50 per person.

 

 

 

 

Early Career Professionals Event

Date: Tuesday 7 February 2023
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Venue: The Foundry Bar, University of Canterbury
Cost: AU$25 per person

All Early Career Participants are invited to attend this event. This is an opportunity for emerging researchers (no age restriction) to join a social and networking evening at The Foundry Bar, located on campus. Finger food will be provided.

 

 

 

 

Networking Social Evening

Date: Wednesday 8 February 2023
Time: 6:00pm - 9:30pm (approximately)
Venue: Christchurch CBD
Cost: AU$30 per person

This social evening begins with a bus trip from the University Campus to the Christchurch Bus Exchange in the CBD. There you will be picked up to join a one-hour guided walking tour through the city offered by Green Kiwi Tours.
'The tour is an interactive and entertaining way to get the express history of Christchurch. From Maori and European settlers to modern day locals. From geography, flora and fauna to architecture. As we unravel these stories, be amazed at the hidden gems of the city.'
The tour will finish at the Little High Eatery in the CBD where you will have the opportunity to purchase dinner (at your own expense). The bus will take you back from the Bus Exchange to the University Campus. You will be advised on the day of exact departure times for buses returning to the University Campus.

Conference Dinner

Date: Thursday 9 February 2023
Tme: 6:30pm - 10:30pm
Venue: Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu, 312 Montreal Street, Christchurch
Cost: AU$140

The conference dinner will be held at the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu in the CBD. The menu will feature some of New Zealand's finest cuisine and wine. The programme will include a Maori welcome, the annual AARES awards and an after-dinner address.
