- Part-time (0.6FTE) with ability to work full-time*, continuing position
- Commencement Salary: $143,200 pro rata per annum (plus 17% superannuation)
About you
You are an experienced and dedicated academic with a strong track record of conducting applied research while contributing to curriculum development, course coordination, and innovative teaching. Your deep expertise in economic theory and applied economics accompanied by your capacity to engage with industry allows you to bring unique perspectives to student-centered learning experiences both in-person and online. You bring a strategic and collegial approach to academic leadership, supporting program innovation and contributing to the broader goals of the University through engagement with industry and community stakeholders.
About the role
The position will contribute independently and as part of a team to support the Academic Unit’s research and teaching outcomes and carry out activities to maintain and develop their scholarly, research and/or professional activities.
Reporting to a Professorial Lead, the Senior Lecturer is responsible for contributing to the Academic Unit’s research agenda. In addition, the position will contribute to the development, delivery and coordination of courses within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the area of economics.
Note: This position is offered as part-time 0.6FTE with the flexibility to increase the fraction to 1.0FTE for the first two years of the appointment. The additional 0.4FTE will be to work on an existing water research grant through the CRC SAAFE.

Required Skills
To be successful you will need
- Relevant doctoral degree with advanced foundational discipline-based research and academic/professional experience in the area of Applied Economics
- Current and relevant knowledge of developments in the discipline
- Demonstrated establishment of a program of research in Applied Economics that enhances the research profile of the Academic Unit
- Leadership in contemporary teaching, learning and assessment
- Evidence of a strong commitment to continuous improvement of teaching practice
