Online election of AARES 2026 President-Elect opens 10 October 2025 

Following a call for nominations for the AARES 2026 President-elect, four (4) nominations were received.  As more than one nomination has been received, an online preferential election will be held. 

The nominated candidates are:

• Dr Risti Permani, Senior Lecturer, University of Queensland
• Dr Peggy Schrobback, Senior Research Scientist, CSIRO
• Professor Yu Sheng, Australian National University
• Professor Peter Tozer, Massey University and University of Western Australia

The position of President-Elect spans three years of leadership and service on the AARES Board:  

• First year as President-Elect includes a role in development of the 2027 annual conference program
• Second year as President includes giving a Plenary address at the 2028 conference 
• Final year includes chairing the AARES nominations committee and academic awards committees. 

Voting  

• All AARES members will be emailed a link to cast a vote in the ballot.  
• Voting is anonymous.
• Only current AARES members are eligible to vote. 
• Voting will open at 9am (AEDT) on Friday 10 October 2025 and will close at 5pm (AEDT) on Friday 24 October 2025.
