Changes to the Global Value of Ecosystem Services: A Market Failure?

The SA AARES branch would like to invite you to hear from Professor Paul Sutton from the Department of Geography & The Environment, University of Denver.

In this big picture talk Professor Sutton outlines real world circumstances leading to fundamental failures in conservation of global ecosystems. He discusses how certain interpretations that are common in neo-classic economic value framing systematically underestimate how real value to people and he outlines some paths forward in more holistic valuation that better recognises the fundamental value of nature.
