Mentoring

Mentoring is an opportunity to pair up a person who wants to learn and grow with someone who is willing to and proficient at sharing their knowledge, skills and experiences. Based on the submissions made to the conference, and career position of the registered mentees and mentors, as much as is possible the pairing will be done to match the needs of the mentee with the strengths and experience of the mentor.

Access to a mentor's knowledge and experience can help a mentee to enjoy a quick start in the AARES conference environment. The mentor may assist the mentee with networking and knowledge sharing and/or the development of their conference presentation or provide feedback following the conference presentation.

Everyone that registers for the mentoring program will be sent further information and expectations closer to the conference.

Mentors will ideally have at least 5 years’ experience in the general field of agricultural, development, environmental and/or resource economics. They can work in a university, research institute, consulting, government, or other professional organisation.

Mentees may be postgraduate students in the final year of their degree, or Early Career Professionals with a degree or an interest in the general field of agricultural, development, environmental and/or resource economics. Mentees would typically have less than 5 years of experience post-graduation.
